Whenever we go out to eat, I always want to order a milkshake, but I hardly ever do. I am not sure why, maybe it’s a calorie thing. Recently on my trip to Las Vegas I had a maple bacon milkshake and it was so freaking good that I never regretted a minute of it. As such, I have decided that I need to try more milkshakes.

I’ve been to a few different restaurants that have the craziest milkshake creations and I am always impressed. My favorite milkshakes are usually the boozy ones, just because. Have you seen my Bourbon S’mores Milkshake or my Mimosa Milkshake? I saw this Spiked Rice Krispie Treat Shake from How Sweet It Is and I knew I wanted to make one myself!

Today I bring you my Rice Krispie Treat Milkshake which I must say is on the top of my list of things to make again this summer. This shake combines vanilla ice cream with marshmallow creme and Rice Krispie Treats. You probably wouldn’t think to throw a Rice Krispie Treat into a milkshake, but trust me when I say that it’s pretty awesome!

We eat a ton of Rice Krispie Treats in our house, and since I just got a giant shipment of marshmallows, I was eager create a new dessert. I made up a batch of Rice Krispie Treats and let them set for about a half hour. You don’t need a whole batch of treats for this recipe, so you can either make a half batch, or just eat the leftover treats like we do!

While the Rice Krispie Treats are setting, I allow the ice cream to thaw for about 15 minutes, just so it is easier to scoop.

First I mixed together the ice cream, milk and marshmallow creme, and I mixed it until it is smooth. Once it is smooth, I threw in the Rice Krispie Treats and blend them into the milkshake. Since the treats are blended into the drink, you don’t have to worry about them softening.

Run to the kitchen, grab your blender and make this shake right away! You won’t regret it!

What a fun, unique idea! I’ve always heard of “pie” shakes (putting an actual slice of pie in the shake and blending together), but a rice krispie treat? Who knew!

There’s a little hamburger stand nearby that makes RKT milkshakes. They’re so good! Love this easy, creamy homemade version!

There’s a restaurant here in DC that’s famous for toasted marshmallow shakes. This reminds me of that! Super fun idea, Julianne!
