Unsalted Butter (cold) Powdered Sugar Vanilla Extract Heavy Cream Salt
This recipe uses cold butter, which allows you to better control the consistency. The mixer will soften the butter. Be sure to properly whip it before adding any other ingredients.
When properly prepared, this buttercream should be fluffy, smooth and slightly stiff. It will perfectly hold it's shape, making it ideal for decorating cakes and cupcakes.
Dice the cold butter first.
Next, whip the butter until fluffy.
Alternate the powdered sugar with liquid ingredients.
To finish, whip again at high speed for a couple minutes.
